Chris Sale struck out eight over seven innings to help the White Sox beat the Royals 3-1 at U.S. Cellular Field. Sale improved to 9-and-1 after his one-run outing and Jake Petricka earned his fourth save. Adam Dunn plated two runs while Gordon Beckham added an RBI for Chicago, which has won three out of four. Jeremy Guthrie allowed three runs in six frames to fall to 5-and-9. Danny Valencia plated the lone run for the Royals, who have dropped all four games to start the second half of play.
