The 2014 Rochelle Township High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class has been announced.

The following former student-athletes will be the 11th induction class at RTHS:

**John Sammons Class of 1963
**Bill Kubale Class of 1972
**Hailey Isham Venters Class of 1995
**Sarah Meadows Class of 1997
**Ben Rand Class of 2003

The Induction Ceremony will take place after the Sophomore football game on September 19th as Rochelle plays Ottawa.

Girls Track

School officials at Oregon High School have named Nick Schneiderman as their new Head Girls Track Coach.

He replaces Lynn Ahlgrim who was Head Coach for the Lady Hawks for the past 4 seasons.

Schneiderman will also remain as an assistant coach in the Oregon football program.

Bowling

Former Rochelle resident Jan Schmidt has reached the stepladder competition today at the Senior Women's U.S. Open Bowling Tournament being held this week at Cherry Bowl in Rockford.

The top 8 individuals qualified for the 8 games of match play to determine the stepladder top 2 bowlers who reach the finals.

Schmidt, who now lives in Hales Corners, Wisconsin,  finished in 7th place with a 3,360 totals for her 18 games. That's an average of 186 per game.

Hall of Fame Bowler Tish Johnson finished in 1st place after the 18 games with a 3,509 total.

The winner of the Senior Women's U.S. Open Bowling Tournament takes home a $3,000 check today.
