White Sox beat the Tigers 11-4

Jose Abreu hit a two-run homer during a seven-run seventh inning and drove in four runs total as the White Sox trounced the Tigers 11-4 in the opener of a three-game set at Comerica Park. It's Abreu's Major League-leading 31st long ball of the year. Adam Dunn also went deep in the big inning and Alexei Ramirez had a three-run double for Chicago, which has won four of five. Jose Quintana tossed six innings of two-run ball to improve his record to 6-and-7. Bryan Holaday had two RBI and J.D. Martinez tripled in a run and scored for the Tigers, who have lost four in-a-row. Anibal Sanchez yielded five runs, four earned, in six-and-a-third frames as he dipped to 7-and-5 with the loss.

Game #2 of the series is tonight with the Pre-Game Show at 5:30 on Newstalk 1060.
