Rookie Kyle Hendricks fired seven innings of one-run ball to lead the Cubs to a 3-1 win over the Reds and a three-game sweep at Wrigley Field. Hendricks improved to 7-and-2 on the year. Hector Rondon pitched a scoreless ninth for his 25th save. Luis Valbuena plated a run and scored while Ryan Kalish and Chris Valaika also drove in a run each for the Cubs, who have won four of five since a seven-game losing streak. Yorman Rodriguez knocked in the lone run for Cincinnati, which dropped its fourth straight. Daniel Corcino allowed two runs in five-and-two-thirds frames to suffer his first career loss.
The Cubs play the Dodgers tonight at Wrigley Field.
