Cubs win 3rd straight game in New York

Jonathan Herrera and Miguel Montero homered to back eight solid innings from Jake Arrieta as the Cubs topped the Mets 6-1 at Citi Field. Arrieta struck out seven while allowing just five hits and one run to improve to 8-and-5. Herrera hit a two-run homer and knocked in three runs for Chicago, which allowed just one run in sweeping the three-game series. Montero added a two-run blast in the ninth for the Cubs. Jacob deGrom gave up four runs in five-and-a-third frames to fall to 8-and-6 with the loss. Curtis Granderson plated the lone run for New York with a ground-rule double in the third.

The Cubs will be at home this afternoon against Miami.
