The Cubs captured their 100th win of the season with a 12-2 victory over the Pirates. Javier Baez hit a grand slam and finished with six RBI for the Cubs, who hit the century mark in a single season for the first time since 1935. Kyle Hendricks tossed six shutout innings to improve to 16-and-8. Hendricks also lowered his ERA to 1.99 for the year.
Matt Joyce and David Freese hit back-to-back homers for the Bucs, who have dropped three straight. Chad Kuhl lasted just three-plus innings and dropped to 5-and-4 with the loss.
