Chris Archer tossed six-and-two-thirds innings of three-run ball to avoid his 20th loss. Archer ends the year 9-and-19. Alex Colome captured his 36th save.
Carlos Sanchez smacked a two-run homer for Chicago, which is now guaranteed to finish under .500 for the fourth straight season. Jose Quintana took the loss.
White Sox are at home tonight against Minnesota.
The Cubs and Pirates played to a rain-shortened 1-1 tie in Pittsburgh. The game was called in the sixth inning after an 83-minute rain delay. It's the first tie in the majors since 2005. Tim Federowicz plated the run for the Cubs, who have already locked up home-field advantage throughout the NL playoffs.
The Cubs play the Reds in Cincinnati tonight.
