Jimmy Butler put up 30 points and nine rebounds to lead the Bulls to a 106-102 win over the Celtics in Game One of their East quarterfinal series in Boston.
Celtics star Isaiah Thomas was in the lineup just a day after his younger sister died in a car accident. An emotional Thomas scored a game-high 33 points in defeat.
Butler netted 23 of his points in the second half to help eighth-seeded Chicago grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven set.
