Cubs sweep the Reds

Javier Baez belted a grand slam during a five-run first inning as the Cubs beat the Reds 9-5 at Wrigley Field. Baez went 3-for-3 and drove in five and Kris Bryant also homered for Chicago, which led 9-0 in the fifth and completed its first three-game sweep of the season. Jon Lester tossed six-plus innings of three-run ball to even his record at 2-and-2. Koji Uehara earned his first save.

Adam Duvall drove in two runs, and Billy Hamilton plated a run and scored twice for Cincinnati, which has lost six straight. Amir Garrett was lit up for six runs in four frames to fall to 3-and-3.
