Marian Hossa won't play in the NHL next season, and the Blackhawks
star may be done for good. The 19-year veteran will miss the
2017-18 season because of a progressive skin disorder he says he's
been treating for years. The 38-year-old said severe side effects
associated with medication to treat the skin disorder will make it
impossible to play hockey next season, and he's been privately
undergoing treatment for the last few years under the supervision
of Chicago's medical staff.
The cap-strapped Blackhawks likely will put him - and his salary-cap hit of $5,275,000 - on injured reserve to get some relief, and it's possible this will be the end for
Hossa, who has four seasons left on his deal.
