Jon Lester settled in after a rocky start to help lift the Cubs past the Marlins 5-3 in Miami. Lester gave up three in the first, but then tossed six scoreless frames to pick up his fifth win. Javier Baez keyed the offense with two hits and three RBI, including a go-ahead double in the sixth. Wade Davis notched his 15th save as Chicago improved to 38-and-36.
J.T. Realmuto hit a three-run homer for the Marlins. Nick Wittgren took the loss in relief.
