Willson Contreras clubbed a three-run homer in the first inning and drove in four as the Cubs cruised to a 7-2 win over the White Sox at Wrigley Field. Albert Almora Jr. plated two, while Ben Zobrist added three hits, an RBI and scored a run for the Northsiders, who are 9-and-2 since the break. John Lackey tossed five-plus innings of two-run ball to up his record to 7-and-9.
Carlos Rodon permitted four runs in four frames as he fell to 1-and-4 with the loss. Rodon also smacked a two-run double for his first career hit.He also had 11 strikeouts on the mound.
