Cubs Lose, Sox Beat Astros

Jarrett Parker singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Giants clipped the Cubs 3-1 at AT&T Park. Brian Duensing suffered his first loss. Albert Almora Jr. belted his fifth homer for Chicago's only run in the third. The Cubs dropped two-of-three in the set.
The Cubs begin a three-game series with the Diamondbacks in Arizona tomorrow. At 59-and-54, the Cubs have a game-and-a-half lead on the Cardinals and Brewers in the NL Central. John Lackey starts on the mound tomorrow for the Cubs. Arizona counters with Taijuan Walker.


Tim Anderson homered and plated three to lead the White Sox to a 7-1 win over the Astros in Chicago. Yolmer Sanchez and Leury Garcia knocked in two runs apiece for the Sox. Miguel Gonzalez fired eight innings of one-run ball to up his record to 6-and-10.
The White Sox go for a three-game sweep of the Astros this evening. Chicago is an AL-worst 43-and-68 on the season. Carlos Rodon toes the rubber for the Sox. Houston sends out Brad Peacock.  Broadcast on WRHL starting at 6:35.
