Matt Ryan completed 21-of-30 attempts for 321 yards and a score to lead the Falcons past the Bears 23-17 at Soldier Field. Up by three in the fourth quarter, Ryan connected with Austin Hooper for an 88-yard touchdown to put the game out of reach. Devonta Freeman rushed for a score and Julio Jones caught four balls for 66 yards as Atlanta moved to 1-and-0. Falcons' kicker Matt Bryant was 3-for-3 on field goals in the winning effort.
Chicago signal-caller Mike Glennon threw for 213 yards a touchdown in his start with the team. Tarik Cohen led the Bears in both receiving and rushing, finishing with 113 yards from scrimmage and a score in defeat.
