Rochelle Township High School is 1 of several area schools to be invited to a meeting on October 30th to talk about rebuilding the Interstate 8 Conference. RTHS is currently in the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference which has 10 schools.
Sandwich and Plano High Schools may be left without a conference after the 2019-20 school year. Manteno, Coal City, Peotone, Reed-Custer, Wilmington, Lisle and Herscher have announced that they plan to leave the conference .
Also invited to the meeting in Sandwich from the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference has been Morris, Ottawa, LaSalle-Peru, and Geneseo.
