(Kevin Crandall and Jeff Leon)
Current and former players and coaches along with friends of the football program came out Saturday night to honor Rochelle Township High School Head Coach Kevin Crandall after 24 years on the sidelines.
Crandall announced prior to this past season that he plans to retire as head coach and athletic director at the end of this school year at RTHS.
Crandall had a record of (160-95) as head coach of the Hubs. He also had 18 playoff teams, 3 of the squads reached the semi-finals.
This past season, Rochelle had a record of (8-4) and a quarterfinal appearance in the playoffs.
Kevin was inducted into the Illinois Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2012 as he won 201 games in his 31 years as a head coach in Illinois. He coached in 327 games.
It was mentioned last night by several speakers about the impact Crandall had on his players on and off the field when they were in high school and now as parents.
