Blackhawks suffer 5th straight loss

The Capitals raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and cruised to a 6-2 win over the Blackhawks at Capital One Arena.  Tom Wilson had a pair of goals for Washington, including a shorthanded marker to close out the scoring.  Alex Ovechkin chipped in with a goal and three assists for the Caps, who earned their third straight win.

Lance Bouma and Jonathan Toews were the only two Blackhawks to find the net.  Chicago has lost five in-a-row to fall to 12-11-and-5.  The Blackhawks went 0-for-4 on the power play in defeat.

Chicago will be at the United Center Friday night against Buffalo.
