Blackhawks beat Ottawa 8-2

The Blackhawks scored five goals in the second period as they clobbered the Senators 8-2 in Ottawa.  Nick Schmaltz scored a pair of power play goals in the frame and Patrick Kane assisted on four of the five tallies.  Kane finished with a goal to go along with the four helpers and Jonathan Toews lit the lamp twice in the winning effort.  Chicago has won three-of-four and is tied with two other teams for the final Western Conference wild card.

Mark Stone had a goal and an assist for the Senators as they fell to 14-18-and-9.  Craig Anderson and Mike Condon each surrendered four goals in defeat.

Blackhawks are at the United Center tonight against Minnesota.
