The IHSA State Basketball Tournament continues today for Class 1 and 2A. The Winnebago Indians will be playing for the 2A State Title tonight. Bago now 30-2 will meet the defending champs Chicago Orr in tonights second game. Jeff Leon will have the broadcast of that game on both Good Time Oldies 1060 and 1023 The Coyote, and on line at wrhl.net and 1023thecoyote.com. The Indians knocked off Pinckneyville 67-63 last night to advance to the Championship Game. Orr defeated Bloomington Central Catholic 60-49.
In 1A, Annawan defeated Sterling Newman 59-44 and Okawville beat Goreville 48-33.
So this morning at 11, Newman plays Goreville for third in Class 1A, following by Annawan against Okawfille for the 1A Title. Both games will be heard on Good Time Oldies 1060 and wrhl.net.
Tonight starting at 5:30 its Class 2A games. Third place will feature Pinckneyville against Bloomington Central Catholic, then Winnebago against Orr for the Championship. In 3A Sectionals last night...at LaSalle Peru, Metamora eliminated Sterling 48-43.
At Woodstock North it was Boylan beating Burlington Central 57-55.
In 4A at Jacobs, Elgin Larkin defeated Rockford Jefferson 60-55.
Rochelle's Noah Griffith advanced to State in the 3 Point Showdown. He will shoot in Peoria next Friday.
