Matt Olson singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 14th inning as the Athletics outlasted the White Sox 12-11 in Oakland. Jed Lowrie hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning for the A's, who swept the three-game series and have won four straight overall. Mark Canha also went deep in the victory. Lou Trivino picked up his first career win.
Tim Anderson tied the game in the top of the ninth for Chicago with an RBI single. Yoan Moncada smacked a grand slam and scored three times as the Sox slipped to 4-and-11. James Shields took the loss in relief.
