Jose Abreu went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored as the White Sox whipped the Mariners 10-4 at Guaranteed Rate Field. Yoan Moncada added three hits, including a home run, and scored three times as Chicago snapped a seven-game losing streak. Carson Fulmer pitched six innings of two-run ball for the win.
Chris Beck went the final three for his first save. Mike Leake allowed 12 hits and eight runs in less than four innings to take the loss. Mike Zunino and Mitch Haniger hit home runs for Seattle.
The White Sox are releasing another update on the condition of pitcher Danny Farquhar, who was hospitalized after suffering a brain hemorrhage and aneurysm during a game last week.
The team said on Monday that Farquhar is progressing well, according to his medical team. He remains in critical condition but is neurologically stable at Rush Medical Center. Farquhar is expected to remain in intensive care for the next few weeks.
