Tim Anderson homered twice for the White Sox as they hammered the Tigers 8-4 in Detroit. Anderson launched a solo shot in the fifth inning, and tacked on a three-run homer in the sixth. Jose Abreu homered and doubled in a run, and Daniel Palka went deep as well. Hector Santiago fired five innings of three-run ball to secure the win.
Francisco Liriano gave up five runs in five innings to take the loss for Detroit. Jeimer Candelario homered twice and plated three for the Tigers, and scored the other run on an error in the ninth. They have lost six-of-eight.
