Will Power finally had his day at Indianapolis after over a
decade's worth of disappointment. The 37-year-old Australian took
the lead with four laps remaining and held on to win his first
Indianapolis 500 in his 11th try at "The Greatest Spectacle in
Racing," giving Hall of Fame owner Roger Penske a record 17th
victory in the event.
Pole-sitter Ed Carpenter finished second
followed by Scott Dixon, Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay.
Danica Patrick's final race of her career ended with a 30th-place
finish after she crashed in Turn 2 of lap 68. Patrick grew up in Roscoe.
