Rochelle Community Hospital will hold a community open house today from 10 until noon for their new Health and Wellness Center.
The 26,000 square foot addition opened earlier this month on the south side of the hospital as construction began last June on the 8 million dollars, 2 story medical office building.
On the first floor, the Healthworks Fitness Center, houses Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation as well as a general Fitness area. This area includes a consultation room and rehab check-in area where patients can meet with Cardiopulmonary staff to get vital readings and discuss rehabilitation. HealthWorks Fitness is open to the community Monday-Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This new area has additional fitness equipment and a locker room and is much larger than the fitness center previously located in the hospital. An exercise physiologist is also available for consultation.
Also on the first floor is the Multi-Specialty Clinic. This new area has a large reception desk for check-in, five physician offices and 15 exam rooms, a Stress Lab, a Diabetes/Nutrition Education Room, manager’s office, storage, conference room and staff lounge. Patients are able to see area specialists right here in Rochelle including: Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Podiatry and General Surgery. The clinic has additional space to expand the number and variety of specialties offered.
On the second floor is RCH’s Family Healthcare Center available to treat patients of all ages. Providers in this clinic include: Family Nurse Practitioner Marilyn Balch and Dr. Manuj Goel from the former Rochelle Medical Group, along with Dr. Jason Popp, Dr. Christine Gorman and Dr. Katherine Ritter from Family Healthcare Center. Dr. Surjit Thiara will be relocating his practice and joining the Family Healthcare Clinic on May 2. The clinic features 27 exam rooms, ten physician offices for potential growth, basic laboratory services, manager and staff offices, two waiting areas with children’s areas, storage and staff lounge. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ample patient parking is available at the South end of the hospital campus right outside of the new Health & Wellness Center, marked as entrance “G”. The community is invited to tour the facility this Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to noon to get a first-hand look at this new addition to healthcare in our community.
