Ogle County Sheriff's Police arrested a Rochelle man this morning after a woman was struck in the head with a hammer.
55-year old Nestor Cordero was arrested on the felony offense of aggravated domestic battery.
The altercation took place in the 71 hundred block of Sunflower Lane in rural Rochelle a short time before 12:30. The female victim was allegedly struck in the head with a hammer.
She was transported by ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Cordero also received treatment for some cuts at the hospital.
He remains in the Ogle County jail with no bond set. Cordero may appear before an Ogle County judge later today when the bond figure will be established.
