Hillcrest Police Chief Danny White said that the officers in his department work only 20 hours a week. Around 15 hours is done before 6 in the evening.

He said they are doing the best they can on the time the officers are working the streets.

The village has recently hired Lilia Calderon as the Deputy Clerk. She will work 16 hours a week at $12 per hour.

Last month, village officials named Patty Moreno as the new clerk for Hillcrest. She is also doing the duties as the treasurer.

The Village Hall in Hillcrest will now be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 until 5. Children in the village can also stop by on Halloween starting at 5pm for candy.
