SPRINGFIELD - Illinois lawmakers are considering a bill to eliminate the road test for seniors when they renew their licenses. Sycamore Republican State Representative Jeff Keicher introduced the bill that would do away with the mandate in Illinois, which is currently the only state that requires behind-the-wheel tests for renewing seniors' licenses. He says these tests don't solve problems on the road. But officials with the National Safety Council say their research shows senior drivers account for more accidents involving more than one vehicle.
