The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Antoine Vermette in a trade
with the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. The Blackhawks sent
defenseman Klas Dahlbeck and a 2015 first-round draft pick to the
Coyotes in the trade. Chicago filled its need for a scoring forward
with Vermette after star Patrick Kane fractured his left clavicle
on Tuesday and is expected to miss 12 weeks. Vermette, Arizona's
second-leading scorer with 35 points, has tallied 13 goals and 22
points over 63 games this season. He has also played in 456
straight games, which is the second-longest active games played
streak in the NHL.
The Blackhawks are at home Monday night against Carolina.
