Brewers sweep the Cubs

The Brewers finished off a three-game sweep of the Cubs with a 3-1 win at Wrigley Field.  Travis Shaw smacked a two-run homer for the Crew, who sit just two games back of the first-place Cubs in the NL Central.  St. Louis is also just two games behind Chicago with 19 games to play.  Zach Davies fired seven innings of one-run ball to improve his mark to 17-and-8.  Corey Knebel closed it out for his 34th save.

Rene Rivera plated the lone run for the Cubs, who have lost six of their last eight.  Kyle Hendricks yielded three runs in six frames as he slipped to 6-and-5.

The Cubs have the day off today. They play at Wrigley Field on Tuesday against the Mets.
