No playoffs this season for the Blackhawks

Alexander Kerfoot scored twice as the Avalanche blasted the Blackhawks 5-1 at the United Center.  Mikko Rantanen, Tyson Barrie and Erik Johnson also lit the lamp for Colorado, which has won five-of-six to move within two points of Minnesota for third place in the Central Division.  The Avs currently hold the top wild card spot in the West with 88 points.  Semyon Varlamov kicked aside 44 shots in the victory. 

Brent Seabrook opened the scoring in the first period for the 'Hawks before the Avs scored five unanswered goals over the final two periods.  Anton Forsberg allowed four goals on 39 shots in defeat.  Chicago has dropped four in-a-row and eliminated from post season play.

The Blackhawks return to the United Center ice tomorrow night against Vancouver.
