The Mets benefited from a late home run to edge the Cubs 4-2 from Queens. The game was tied at one run apiece in the bottom of the sixth inning until DJ Stewart smashed a three-run homer to break the deadlock.

Sean Reid-Foley earned the win in relief and Jorge Lopez notched his second save of the season despite allowing an earned run in the ninth. New York is third in the NL East at 15-and-14.

The Cubs slipped to second in the NL Central at 18-and-12.

For the second straight night, the Minnesota Twins scored a run in the top of the 9th inning and beat the Chicago White Sox.

The final score Tuesday night was 6-5 as the winning run came in on a sacrifice fly by Max Kepler.

It was Minnesota's 9th straight win.
